The countryâ€™s first astronaut Namira Salim on Wednesday called on President Pervez Musharraf and presented him the certificate she received on completion of her spaceflight training in United States.
Namira has recently completed Sub-orbital Spaceflight Training at the Nastar Centre in the United States, being the first Pakistani qualified to go to space.
President Musharraf appreciated Namira for her efforts and said she was a symbol of abilities for Pakistani women.
He also congratulated Namira Salim on hoisting national flag at the southpole which helped raise the image of Pakistan.
