A pre-mature baby, Muhammad Ali, born a month ago, is eagerly waiting for his parents at a local hospital in Karachi. The hospital administration is at a fix about the baby, since the parents did not provide any contact information at the time of admission.
Muhammad Ali, one month old, is a cesarean born infant, who was shifted to this hospital after his condition worsened after birth. A man Azeem Yousuf admitted Ali in critical condition, where the newborn was treated in incubator. After recovery, the child is now healthy and quite active.
The hospital administration is concerned about the future of the infant, stating that the child’s parents are not traceable.
Dr Khurram Ahsan, Head of Pediatrics Department at the hospital, said that the child was brought to hospital in critical condition. He also stated that the people who brought the child, presumably child’s parents, also had a dispute in the hospital.
According to Citizens Police Liason Committee (CPLC), expensive treatment compelled the parents to leave their child in the hospital, as the hospital bills rose to 2 lacs, and Ali’s poor parents can not afford to pay such hefty amount.
The hospital administration are still trying to locate Ali’s parents. They said that bill payment is not an issue and could by resolved by other means, however handing the child to his parents is more important.
