Some 140 health facilities in Sindh have been destroyed or partially affected owing to floods or rains in the province.
This was stated here on Sunday by the Adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister, Ms. Sharmila Farooqi, who is also the Provincial Coordinator of the Peoples Primary Health Initiative (PPHI).
She also instructed the Project Director of PPHI to immediately adopt measures to formulate a mechanism in consultation with the Provincial Health Department and other stakeholders to revival health facilities for the welfare of the flood affectees and the general public.
Ms. Farooqi was of the view that the revival of health facilities is a big challenge as it requires huge funds and that the process needs concerted efforts.
She stressed upon all segments of the society including the philanthropists, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the donor agencies to assist the government in reviving the health facilities for the people.
