Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Thursday urged the parliamentarians to visit the flood-hit areas regularly to redress the sufferings of flood victims.
Talking to MNA Sardar Muhammad Jaffar Khan Leghari and Meena Leghari at his Parliament House chamber, the Prime Minister said the forthcoming phase of rehabilitation and reconstruction needed substantial resources to bring normalcy in the flood affected areas and required the vigilance of elected representatives to ensure transparency.
The Prime Minister urged the public representatives to keep constant vigilance during the relief activities so that people could receive maximum help.
He said despite huge magnitude of calamity, the timely response had been minimized the human loss to a great extent.
Sardar Jaffar Leghari apprised the Prime Minister of relief activities in his constituency and discussed the measures taken for the upcoming phase of reconstruction and rehabilitation.
