Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Sunday said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has always respected courts’ verdicts and will keep on doing so in future.
Talking to media here at Dera Kaira, he said consultation has been done with the leader of opposition in the National Assembly regarding the appointment of NAB chairman as the PPP government believes in consensus on all important issues.
He said the time was sought from the court for appointment of the NAB chairman. As NAB was being run without a chairman, hence, the government had to make a temporary law in this regard and for routine matters’ smooth running in the absence of chairman an ordinance was promulgated.
Answering a question about the recent story in a section of media about a certain ministers’ list, Kaira said the international media has published news without research and investigation.
He expressed his deep concern over the drones attacks in Pakistani territory and said the CIA director has been told that appropriate action would be taken if this practice continues in future.
