Federal Interior Minister, Rehman Malik on Saturday said that the government has no intention to introduce amendment in the blasphemy law.
He said this while talking to media during a meeting with a central leader of Sunni Rehbar Council, Mufti Munib- ur-Rehman at National Crisis Management Cell here.
He said a private bill which has been submitted by a PPP leader, Ms. Sherry Rehman in the National Assembly, has no link with the Pakistan Peoples Party.
Rehman Malik said the government respects all ulema and it will not take any such steps, which can hurt emotions of the ulema and masses.
He said the government is thankful to the ulema for the cooperation provided by them during the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram.
