Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs, Dr Abdul Hafiz Shaikh, Saturday announced the constitution of a high powered committee with representatives of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) to identify and find solutions of the issues and irritants directly or indirectly related to finance sector, the business community is confronted with.
In an interactive meeting with FPCCI members here at Federation House, the Finance Minister said Government members on the committee would include Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission of Pakistan, Federal Secretary of Finance, Chairman , Federal Board of Revenue.
We would wait for the names of business representatives recommended by FPCCI, he emphasized adding that this committee would greatly help in settling the important issues including Reformed General Sales Tax (RGST) between the business community and the Government.
Federal Secretary for Finance Dr Waqar and the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue accompanied the Minister.
President FPCCI Senator Haji Ghulam Ali, Chairman, Businessmen Panel at FPCCI and former president FPCCI Tariq Sayeed Khan, FPCCI Vice Presidents, President India-Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and former president FPCCI , S.M. Muneer and Vice Chairman SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry , former president FPCCI Iftikar Ali Malik, Advisor to Federal Textile Ministry Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig welcomed the Minister and his team.
