The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday directed Federal Secretary Petroleum to submit reply on a recent hike in fuel prices before the court.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed was hearing a petition filed by a local lawyer against petroleum prices hike.
The petition maintained the increased fuel prices would further aggravate the economic condition of the masses that were already crushed by skyrocketed inflation. The plea termed the hike as completely ‘unbearable’ for the people of Pakistan.
The increase in petroleum prices would affect the transportation and edible items, petitioner argued, requesting the court to declare the notification null and void.
The court, later, issued a legal notice to Secretary Petroleum and ask him to submit a reply in this regard.
