Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Sunday that the Muttehida Qaumi Movement (MQM) took a wise decision to sit on treasury benches and this decision would further strengthen democracy in the country.Talking to newsmen here at Dera Kaira, he said that MQM is our ally and they would remain our ally in the future. He said the PPP-led government has adopted a policy of reconciliation to take the country out of crises.The minister urged the political parties to exercise tolerance since blaming one another was not good.
Replying to a question, Kaira said that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani is making efforts to remove apprehensions of all allied parties for the survival of democracy.
He said, the decision to increase petroleum prices was withdrawn for providing relief to the people.
He criticised Azam Swati for levelling allegations of corruption against the Prime Minister. Kaira said that if Swati had known about it he should have resigned from the Prime Minister’s Cabinet.
