Pakistan Muslim League-N (PMLN) filed an adjournment motion on Saturday in the National Assembly (NA) against recent hike in the petroleum prices.
The motion submitted to the NA secretariat was signed by six parliamentarians including Hanif Abbasi.
In the motion, it is maintained that the government had hit the masses with petrol bomb on the eve of new year. The current hike had stripped the people off right to live, it added.
The motion went on to state the increased prices would skyrocket the already unbearable inflation and it would adversely affect the agriculture sector surging the rate of unemployment in the country.
The signatories maintained the issue was of grave importance and it should, therefore, be debated upon in the NA.
