Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday said that Pakistan was keenly looking forward to Prime Minister David Cameron’s visit to Pakistan in the near future to re-launch the enhanced format of Pakistan-UK strategic dialogue to add new impetus to the existing cordial relations.Pakistan, he said attached very high importance to its bilateral ties with UK and Prime Minister Cameron’s visit will certainly impart added vigor for taking the bilateral ties to new heights.
The Prime Minister was talking to Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, British Cabinet Minister and Chairperson of UK’s Conservative Party here at the PM House on Saturday evening.
The Prime Minister thanked the UK Government for their timely and prompt assistance in the relief and rehabilitation efforts for the flood victims.
He urged the UK Government to enhance the portion of budgetary support in its Development Assistance Programme for Pakistan to enable his Government to help the flood affectees rebuild their homes and hearth under its National Citizen Compensation Programme.
The Prime Minister reiterated his government’s firm commitment to remain focused on the war against terror and to introduce economic reforms in the country.
