Security forces’ operation was continuing till mid-day against the terrorists who last night sneaked onto Pakistan Navy Base Mehran, an official of the Pakistan Navy said here on Monday.

He said that the terrorists, who are estimated to be between 10 and 15, are holed up in the Base. The firing is continuing from time to time.

The official stated eleven personnel of Pakistan Navy including an officer, and a Rangers embraced martyrdom in the incident.

Fourteen other security personnel have been injured who included 11 from Pakistan Navy and three of Pakistan Rangers.

The official pointed out that search operation to spot the holed up terrorists in the base is continuing.

He said that the casualties of the terrorists are not known as yet.

Two P3C Orion aircraft of Pakistan Navy have also been damaged, the official confirmed.
