President Asif Ali Zardari has welcomed the statement of Altaf Hussain asking Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan to resume work as Governor Sindh and termed it a good omen for harmony and reconciliation not only in the province but also throughout the country.

Altaf Hussain had asked Dr. Ebad to work in harmony with the federal and provincial governments under the guidance of the President.

Spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said that the President welcomed Ebad, who will immediately return to the country.

The President expressed the hope that it will mark a new beginning of peace and stability in the province.
