Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khurshid Shah, provincial minister for Local Government Agha Siraj Durrani and Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wassan held separate meetings with the Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan at the Governor House here on Monday.
A statement issued from the Governor House said that in the meetings with Syed Khurshid Shah and Agha Siraj Durrani, the political situation in the province and the future line of action discussed in detail.
It said that it was resolved that through the spirit of tolerance and accommodation, the political environment would be improved in the province and no effort would be spared to strengthen democracy.
The process of contacts between both the main political parties of Sindh would be ensured on permanent basis.
It was also resolved that both the main political parties of Sindh would discharge their full role for the progress of the province and facing together the challenges to the province and the country.
In the meeting with Manzoor Hussain Wassan, the overall law and order situation in the province in general and Karachi in particular was discussed.
It was decided to intensify the steps that have been taken without any distinction for improving law and order in the province and in Karachi in particular.
Every efforts would be made for the maintenance of the law and order and restoring the confidence of the people in the law enforcement agencies.
Home minister apprised the governor of the prevailing situation and the steps taken.
The governor expressed the confidence that steps would be strengthened at every level for ensuring the law and order.
