Over a million population hit by monsoon rain in Badin

The District Coordination Officer Badin Kazim Hussain Jatoi informed here on Wednesday that around 1,021,301 people have been badly affected by torrential rains in the District.

He said that 46 Union Council and 6395 villages in the district have been totally damaged and the current summary of losses further revealed that 984,805 acres of land has been affected.

The cultivated area of 214,940 acres has totally been damaged. He said that total number of 172155 houses partially and 210407 houses have been fully damaged.

He said 28 persons including seven women have lost their lives in rain related incidents.

He further informed that as many as 278 relief camps have been established where total number of 8,1214 persons have been provided shelter along with provision of food, drinking water and medical treatment.
