Investors show interest in Pakistan Premier League

Sources confirm that Pakistan Cricket Board has been approached by at least four different corporations to launch the first ever international T20 league in Pakistan, an idea that has been floating around since 2007.

PCB Chief operating officer Subhan Ahmed said that the companies have been asked to present the PCB with a plan on conducting our very own Pakistan Premier League. He said that the PCB was excited to see such a response from those companies.

Talking about the inclusion of international players in the event he said, “We have to sit and look into the modalities and feasibility of having such an event in Pakistan involving foreign players.”

It is speculated that the event can be organised in any of the following months of the Twenty 20 World Cup later this year.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been making efforts to attract investments and start Pakistan Premier League since 2007, but the attack on Sri Lankan team in 2009 brought these efforts to a halt.
