MADRID: Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer crashed out of the Mutua Madrid Open 2012 event on Friday. Seventh-seeded Indians Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna advanced to their second ATP World Tour Masters 1000 semi-final after beating the Pakistani and his Dutch partner.

Bopanna-Bhupatti defeated Qureshi-Rojer 7-6(2), 7-6(5) in a thrilling contest that lasted for an hour and forty six minutes. The Indians hit 10 aces and saved three of four break points to improve to a 15-7 match record on the year. Both teams won 73 per cent of their service points.

Qureshi had earlier played with Bopanna until the end of the 2011 ATP World Tour season.
