Nawabshah: Firing on bus kills Seven passengers

NAWABSHAH: Atleast Seven people were gunned down and sevral wounded in an indiscriminate firing on the passenger van in Ren Shakh area, Nawabshah on Friday.

Sources said, Some 6 assailants opened fire on the passenger van when it was on the way to Swabi from Karachi. While total 47 people were on board.

Other sources said, Two men boarded the bus just before Qazi Ahmad and later asked the driver to stop. Two accomplices were waiting on motorbikes. They opened fire, then fled.

The driver Abdul Ghaffar was also killed in the attack.

The deceased were identified as Haji Abdul Ghaffar Pathan (driver), Shahzad Hassan and Muhammad Makrab from Attock, Sameeullah Khan from Mianwali, Gulreb Khan from Swabi, Abdul Majeed and Arsalan Majeed from Taxila. One deceased could not be identified.

Police sources said that the number of casualties may rise.

The deceased and injured were immediately rushed to a nearby Qazi Ahmed hospital and Taluka hospital. Doctors described the condition of some of the injured as critical.

Police sources said, it was a targeted attack and investigation is underway.
