ISLAMABAD: A joint session under the leadership of President and the Prime Minister concluded within Islamabad on Wednesday whereby the President and the Prime Minister met General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani in order to discuss the security situation within Pakistan.

The meeting concluded after discussion over several issues. PM Gilani stated that the government would initiate talks with the US on new terms. The terms would ensure that the nation’s sovereignty would not be dented. Top officials in the meeting stated that ties with US would be construed in accordance with Parliament’s guidelines

With respect to drone attacks, PM Gilani said the government’s stance was pretty much clear.

The meeting also indicated that talks with respect to peace and stability within Afghanistan would be continued and Pakistan would fully support it

According to Aaj reporter, DG ISI was also present in the meeting.

Earlier, PM Gilani met the COAS in person and discussed the security situation within Pakistan .
