5th ODI: Pakistan elects to bat against Sri Lanka

COLOMBO: Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq won the toss and elected to bat first in the fifth and final one day international against Sri Lanka at R. Premadasa Stadium on Monday.

Pakistani batsmen Misbah ul Haq and Asad Shafiq stayed on the wicket.

Sri Lanka left out left-arm spinner Sajeewa Weerakoon and brought in all-rounder Jeevan Mendis into the playing eleven.

Pakistan left out former captain Younis Khan and off-spinner Saeeed Ajmal, who were replaced by top order batsman Imran Farhat and fast bowler Mohammad Sami.

Sri Lanka leads the five match series 2-1.

Sri Lanka: Mahela Jayawardene (captain), Tillekeratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara, Dinesh Chandimal, Angelo Mathews, Lahiru Thirimanne, Thisara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekera, Lasith Malinga, Jeevan Mendis and Upul Tharanga.

Pakistan: Mohammad Hafeez, Imran Farhat, Misbah-ul-Haq (Captain), Umar Akmal, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Mohammad Sami, Azad Shafiq, Azhar Ali and Sohail Tanvir.
