Lack of oxygen claims 5 lives at Benaizr Bhutto hospital

RAWALPINDI: Five patients were pronounced dead because of low supply of oxygen in Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Aaj News reported.

Five patients have died while several other patients have been shifted to nearby Holy Family hospital and District hospital.

Speaking to Aaj News, the MS of Benazir Bhutto Hospital Qadir Mir said, that the hospital was facing a shortage of oxygen for quite a while now, but it was never at such a fatal rate that a person could die.

He said that in order to avoid anymore fatal incidents like this the rest of the patients were being moved to different hospitals.

After the incident, families and peers of the deceased patients gathered in the hospital and expressed their anger at the inefficiency of hospital staff and appealed Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of this unfortunate incident.
