A delegation of MNAs hailing from Rawalpindi Division called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at Prime Minister House on Wednesday and assured him that they firmly stood behind PPP leadership and would not let the opposition succeed in its plan to derail democracy.
They said that PPP leaders and workers had rendered numerous sacrifices and suffered hardships of unimaginable magnitude during struggle for democracy.
The Prime Minister thanked the MNAs for their support and said that they should mobilize public opinion in their respective constituencies in order to make the people aware of conspiracies against democracy and indeed against the people.
The Prime Minister said opposition was making itself a laughing stock in the eyes of the people as they had no case to put forward in Parliament and therefore had resorted to hooliganism which was the glaring negation of established parliamentary practices.
They have not learnt from history and as such, ironically, are repeating it, the Prime Minister said.
The members of the delegation included Raja Pervez Ashraf, Minister for Information and Technology, Farzana Raja, Chairperson of BISP, Rukhsana Bangash, Mehreen Anwer Raja and Fauzia Habib.
