ISLAMABAD: A Muthaida Qaumi Movement (MQM) delegation met President Asif Zardari on Thursday amid the ups and downs in the nomination of the Prime Minister. The MQM delegation assured the President of its support for the PPP’s PM nominee.

The MQM delegation comprised of Dr. Farooq Sattar, Haider Abbas Rizvi and Babar Ghauri. The delegation assured the President that it would support the nominee selected by Zardari and would not isolate the PPP.

According to sources, the unrest in Karachi was also discussed with special emphasis on target killing and extortion incidents. The delegation also raised its concern over the increased load shedding within the province of Punjab.

MQM demanded severe action against the perpetrators and further insisted that the traders of Karachi be set free from extortionists.
