Blast in Quetta claims 14 lives; several injured

QUETTA: A blast near the Satellite town area in Quetta has claimed almost 14lives with several others injured as a result of the unfortunate incident. The blast took place near the “Bank Chowk” on Thursday afternoon. Reports have indicated that an approximate number of 40 individuals were injured as a result of the blast. 3 of the deceased have been reported to be kids with an approximate number of 10 individuals being reported to be in a critical state.
AAJ TV correspondents have reported that the blast occurred near a ”Madresah”. Police and the by-standers have hinted that the bomb was planted within a bicycle.
Intense firing within the area started following the blast; causing difficulties in the rescue operation carried out within the area. The situation was later brought under control by the Police.
The injured have been shifted to Civil Hospital and Bolan Medical Complex for proper medical attention.
