“ Raaja ki ayegi baarat , Rangeeli hogi raat. Magan main naachongi “
It seems that Pakistan has apparently got lucky with the appointment of its newly elected 25th Prime minister Mr. Raja Pervez ashraf a.k.a Raja Rental.
He some how reminds me of a couplet by Ghalib :
“ Tere waaday per jiay hum , to yeh jaan jhoot jana
Ke khushi se mar na jaatay , agar aitebaar hota “
A man who cannot keep his promises , reference to the US $ 5 billion rental scam for which he was shown the way out by the supreme court has been been facing resentment from absolutely all spheres of the society.
Born in Sanghar and graduated at the University of Sindh , Mr. Prime minister is a complete disappointment to the nation’s last democratic hope. Probably the last nail in the coffin of the mandate of PPP.
We fail to understand if this comedy of errors was actually scripted and filmed by one of Pakistan’s most smartest politician till date , Mr. Zardari who has very successfully been playing his cards both nationally and internationally.
But what is most difficult to comprehend is why he would so openly go against the emotions and voices of majority of the citizens and political parties of Pakistan?
So much so that even Nawaz Shareef claims that he was surprised by the absolutely unexpected nomination of Raja Saab.
Is this the level of democracy and let me rephrase appropriate democracy left in Pakistan? Is this the best we could do with the available talent on our land?
The answer unanimously is a big NO.
