Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf laid down the stone of Khan Khwar Hydro-power project on Saturday.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the 72 megawatt Khan Khwar hydro-power project, PM Ashraf said that critics should at least praise the good work of the government.
The hydro-power project has been built Khan Khwar, a right bank branch of the Indus River located within the Besham town, District Shangla of KPK. The project completion cost equaled an approximate figure of Rs. 10.73 billion of which Rs. 5.049 billion accounted for foreign exchange component.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Minister for Water and Power, Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, stated that the project was one of its kind and was inherently designed and developed by WAPDA.
Informing about the government’s latest achievement within the power sector, Ahmed Mukhtar stated that 3000 megawatt electricity were added to the national grid. He further added that another 4500 megawatt electricity would be added to the the electricity in order to get rid of the load-shedding crisis.
