London: Oscar winning composer A.R. Rahman and British Rock Band Muse will be performing at London Olympics opening ceremony.
According to the social media, the Devon band said they were “excited” and “honoured” to have been chosen. British rock band Muse have announced their new single Survival, will be the official song for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The band released a statement on their website saying: “Matt wrote the song with the Olympics in mind. It’s about total conviction and pure determination to win … The song will be played throughout the Games including when athletes enter the stadium, in the lead up to the medal ceremony and also as the theme for all international TV coverage.”

However A.R. Rahman is collaborating with Danny Boyle once again after slumdog millionaire. Rahman has composed a special punjabi number to rock the crowd.
Rahman tweeted, “It’s a track in Punjabi, celebrating the Indian influence in the UK. It’s a part of a medley in the Olympics opening ceremony, according to Danny Boyle’s creative wishes!”
It is also reported that Singer Robbie Williams was asked to perform at the closing ceremony but he has opted out of the closing ceremony of London Olympics to be with his pregnant wife, who is due to give birth at the same time.
One Direction are also being lined up for the final day of Olympics.
