BAHADURABAD: Some unknown assailants attacked a shop at Bahaurabad, Karachi on Thursday killing a person and wounded two others.
According to the local traders, the shopkeepers were attacked because they had refused to pay ‘bhatta’ (extortion money).
According to the police, some bikers opened fire on the local trader’s shop subsequently injured three persons, among them one lost his life.
The attack has left the trader and his family fearful for their lives.
Traders in Karachi have constantly been under attack recently, with the ‘bhatta’ mafia threatening the former to pay up exorbitant amounts of money or get killed.
Later the shopkeepers held protest against the extortionist mafia and demanded their security from the government.
