Visva Bharati University in West Bengal penalized its student to drink her urine. The student was a girl studying in the 5^th grade.

According to the parents of the girl, they were jailed when they raised their voice over the horrible incident. The hostel administration had filed a case against the parents of the girl for intruding the hostel premises.

The father of the girl, Manoj Mistry, after his release on Monday stated that they came to know of the incident when the girl’s mother called the Hostel warden to inquire about the wellbeing of her daughter.

Manoj stated that he was really hurt by this incident and stood by her daughter over the horrendous issue. “I will not let my girl stay here any more,” stated Manoj.

The parents of the girl, while registering their complaint with police stated that the incident took place on Saturday when their daughter urinated on her bed while sleeping. They further added that the Hostel warden, Uma Poddar, forcefully made their daughter to drink the urine in order to get rid of her bed-wetting habit.

It has also been alleged that the warden sprinkled salt over the wet bed and punished the girl to lick it.

Uma Poddar was later arrested and suspended from the University, but according to recent reports, she was granted bail by a Bolpur Court on Monday.
