KARACHI: Birthday of Miss Fatima Jinnah also known as Mader e Millat was observed on July 30th.
Being the sister of Quaid e Azam is not the only reason that makes her such a glorious personality of our history. The things she did for this nation and country can only be expected from a mother.
Madar-e-Milat Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah was born on July 30st 1893 in Karachi. Various social and political organisations would arrange cake-cutting ceremonies in the whole country to pay tributes to her hard work and efforts for the country and nation.
Taking part in elections at the age of 72 or 73 and actively leading the campaign by traveling almost everywhere in Pakistan by using every mean is a courageous act indeed. She was the one who challenged the first marital law administrator of Pakistan, Ayub Khan, in presidential elections.
Being a Pakistani, I believe the after all the bad things we as a nation are not as ungrateful and senseless that we might have voted for Dictator rather than voting for Miss. Jinnah.
The only city where she won, according to official results, was Laiya. She was the one who devoted her life for the cause of Pakistan, and helped his brother to gain the gift we call Pakistan.
Even after the death of Quaid, she was in touch with the affairs regarding Pakistan and a first presidential election of Pakistan was the evidence of her efforts she made for Pakistan till her last breath. She died on July 9, 1967 at the age of 73.
