India bats first against Sri Lanka in one day opener

India won the toss and elected to bat against Sri Lanka in the first One-dayer of the five-match series in Hambantota on Saturday.

Indian team is going in with two spinners in R. Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha, while Irfan Pathan has been included as an all-rounder.

Dope-tainted leg-spinner Rahul Sharma has been left out of the playing XI.

For Sri Lanka, Rangana Herath is back and has taken the place of Jeevan Mendis.

India: Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (capt), Irfan Pathan, R Ashwin, Zaheer Khan, Umesh Yadav, Pragyan Ojha.

Sri Lanka: Upul Tharanga, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardene (capt), Dinesh Chandimal, Angelo Mathews, Lahiru Thirimanne, Thisara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Rangana Herath.
