ISLAMABAD: Business tycoon Malik Riaz, in response to the hearing of  show-cause notice counter issued to him, submitted an unconditional apology in the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

Malik’s attorney says that the case should be closed because if they would conduct the trial there is a possibility that Chief Justice’s dignity will be tarnished.

Justice Athar Saeed said court provides justice according to the law and not considering the after effects of the decisions. The contempt of court case against Malik Riaz is being held under the vigilance of Justice Shakir Allah Jan by three-member bench.

In his reply submitted to the court, Malik Riaz said,” The motive behind the press conference wasn’t to contempt court or Chief Justice. I just wanted to bring Dr. Arsalan Iftekhar’s reality to forth. I met him on the wish of Chief Justice, his remarks appeared as he wanted to build a case of murder against me.”

Malik Riaz’s attorney Dr. Basit said that the trial against his client is not being conducted according to the law. However the head of the three -member bench Justice Shakir Allah Jan said that the trial was started after bringing all the legal requirement to completion.

Dr. Basit said that due to Dr. Arsalan, court got dragged into the matter, 3 anchors also gave remarks due to which chief justice was also humiliated. Neither earlier we never accused  nor are we accusing any one now.

He further added Cheif Justice is a wall against corruption there is no other opinion about it. Chief Justice’s stance against corruption is in favor of the country. Furthermore he asked that Dr. Arsalan Iftekhar should be called and questioned too.

Justice Aijaz Afzal commented that shall we close our eyes with the fear of truth to come forth? The decision of the case doesn’t effect judges in any way.
