ISLAMABAD: Cabinet’s Defence Committee meeting concluded late on Tuesday. Following the conclusion of the meeting, it was reported that Pakistan has accepted US apology and would be reinstating the NATO supply.
According to sources, a formal acceptance with respect to the restoration of NATO supply would be attested and issued tomorrow. Though the US would not be paying the transit charges, a consensus has been reached over the operational cost which the US would be paying to the Pakistani government.
The CDC meeting also discussed the drone attack issue and added that US has agreed with Pakistan over the drone issue and that information with respect to drone attacks would be provided to the Pakistani government prior to carrying out any attacks. It has also been agreed that a mutual consensus would reached before any drone attacks. According to the US, the drone attacks would only be carried out if the target is deemed to be highly notorious.
Sources have also added that America would be paying $1.2 billion to Pakistan once the NATO supplies are restored.
Earlier on Tuesday, the CDC meeting was carried out the discuss the NATO issue along with Pak-US ties and peace within the region.
