PM leaves for official visit to Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Sunday left for a two-day official visit to Saudi Arabia during which he will hold meeting with Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz.

Talking to media men at Chaklala airbase, the Prime Minister said matters of mutual interest will come under discussion during his meeting with Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz.

The meeting will take place on Monday in Jeddah.

The Prime Minister will also offer his condolences to the Saudi King on the death of Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Raja Pervez will perform Umra on Sunday and will offer Salam at Roza-e-Rasool (Peace Be Upon Him) and Nawafil at the Masjid-e- Nabvi in Madina.

The Prime Minister will also meet Pakistani community living in Saudi Arabia.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Khurshid Shah is accompanying the Prime Minister.

Raja Pervez said Saudi Arabia has close brotherly ties with Pakistan and it gives importance to Pakistan’s government and its people.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are bound in religious and spiritual ties, he said adding Saudi Arabia always came to the assistance of Pakistan in its hour of need.

He said a large number of Pakistanis live in Saudi Arabia and they are taking part in the development and progress of the Holy Land, considering it as their own country.

To a question, the Prime Minister said companies from many countries including Saudi Arabia have made investments in Pakistan as conducive environment exists in the country for investors.

He said he will urge the Saudi investors to make more investments in Pakistan.
