ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zaradri has stated that in order to save women from abuse and discrimination, the government is considering to post women judges at the top judicial spot. The President stated this while addressing a ceremony on Friday, arranged to mark the end of “One Million Signatures” campaign to stop violence against women.
On this occasion, President Zardari put an end to the campaign by putting up his signature.
President Zardari supported the empowerment of women and added that women were not only a subject of violence within Pakistan, but they were being subdued in the entire South Asian region.
Zardari uttered that harassment was the worst example of discrimination against women in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Zardari claimed that many laws with respect to promoting women rights had been established during the current democratic government while numerous others were still within the pipeline.
