Flood hit-areas: Epidemics breakout in three districts of Balochistan

DERA MURAD JAMALI: Water-born diseases have turned epidemics in flood-hit areas of three districts of Balochistan including Jaffarabad, Nasirabad and Jhal Magsi.

Hospital sources confirmed to APP on Saturday that a large number of flood-stricken people suffering from water-born diseases were being brought to hospitals.” Most of patients are suffering from Malaria, gastro, diarrhea and stomach diseases,” a doctor said.

The relevant departments are not making serious efforts to drain out four to five foot deep flood water standing in Allahabad, Baba Kot, Mir Hasan, Dera Allahyar, Tambo and others areas. Tens of thousands of flood-hit people are sitting under open sky.

Hospitals sources told that more 13 patients bitten by snakes were given medical aid.

Meanwhile, Shehryar Sultan, the Commissioner Nasirabad division advised flood-hit people to be calm and express passion. He said that although flood played havoc at a large scale in Eastern Balochistan adding that however, effort afoot to provide relief to the flood-victims. He said that medical camps have been set up to provide medical aid to the patients.
