COLOMBO: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to participate in the International Cricket Council (ICC) awards ceremony.
According to media reports, Five players and two officials will participate in the ceremony although chairman PCB will not participate.
Previously, the PCB had announced to boycott the ceremony after off spinner Saeed Ajmal was omitted in the ICC awards.
The omission has already led to the PCB writing letters to the ICC, expressing its dissent with the decision, and pointed out that Ajmal was the top wicket-taker in Tests in the qualifying period for the awards, taking 72 wickets in 12 games and was also placed second in the ODI top bowlers list.
Former Test batsman, Basit Ali also criticised the ICC for ignoring Ajmal insisting that the PCB must not accept the decision tamely.
After the omission, The PCB announced to give special award to the best off-spinner as No. 1 bowler in the world.
It is to be noted that Saeed Ajmal added another feather to his cap by becoming the top Twenty20 bowler in the world according to ICC T20 rankings list issued on Thursday. He is also ranked No 1 in the ODI ranking and No 3 in Test rankings.
