ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has ruled out formation of a caretaker set-up this year, saying the PPP government’s term will end on March 18 next year and the interim government will be installed afterwards to hold general elections within 60 days.
Talking to media on Thursday, Kaira repeated his stance saying that, We want a fair and free elections.
But it is only possible after March 18 when the government will complete its tenure.
The information minister also ruled out talks with the opposition about the interim set-up at this stage. “It is too early to hold talks with the opposition on the issue because about six months are left.”
He further added that its impossible to set up an interim government until this November, December.
