Indian External Affairs Minister S M Karishna visited the shrine of great Sufi saint Hazrat Ali Hajvery (RA) known as Data Sahib and Minar-e-Pakistan on Sunday.
The Indian minister laid a wreath on the shrine and he was served with Ladoo, traditional sweets of the city.
Earlier, Provincial Minister for Religious Affairs Haji Ehsan ud Din Qureshi welcomed the Indian minister and Provincial Secretary Tariq Mehmood briefed the delegation about the shrine.
During his visit to Minar-e-Pakistan, he read the resolution of Pakistan and wrote his feelings in the guest-book.
Talking to the media, he said he was happy to visit Pakistan and wished for the people of Pakistan.
He said that India wanted a stable and prosperous Pakistan, adding India and Pakistan were sovereign countries and they should live like good neighbours. He urged both the countries to work for a brighter future of the peoples of both countries.
Later, he visited Gurudawara Dera Sahib (shrine of the fifth Sikh Guru Arjun Dev Ji) and Marhi Raja Ranjeet Singh, where he was welcomed with Saropa, gifts, sword and a special handkerchief.
Provincial Minster for Planning & Development Ch Abdul Ghafoor was also with him.
