KARACHI: The last date to replace old 500 rupees note is October 1st 2012. The 500 denomination notes can be replaced from State Bank of Pakistan (SBP)’s field offices or any other bank within the country. The big-sized old notes are being replaced with the smaller currency notes.

According to the notification issued by the State Bank of Pakistan, the Central bank and all the other banks would not be liable to replace the old notes with the newer currency after 1st October.

The recurring warnings and official notices have been issued by the SBP to help citizens avoid any losses by holding onto the old notes after October 1.
