President to move UN over anti Islam film: Khosa

MULTAN: Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa said on Saturday that President Asif Ali Zardari would raise Pakistan’s concern over the profane film at the United Nations.

Addressing a press conference at the local airport along with MNA Javid Iqbal Warriach, he said Pakistan was the only Islamic state that observed “Youm-i Ishaq-i Rasool” (Peace Be Upon Him) on national level.

He said ceremonies were held at the PM Secretariat and Governor’s House in which people from various religions, participated.”A resoultion to punish those, who had hurt religious feelings of others, was also adopted,” he added.

Khosa urged the international community to make laws against blasphemous acts.

To a question, Punjab Governor Latif Khan Khosa said that Afia Siddiqi was a daughter of the country, adding that Pakistan had also provided legal aid to her.

He said justice should be provided to her and the government had raised the issue at ambassador level.

On the dual nationalilty issue, he said the government had already moved a bill on it.

He said that Senate Chairman Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari had to decide about Interior Minister Rehman Mailk in the light of the court verdict.

To a question on Seraiki province, Khosa said the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was determined to establishing the province as it was the right of people of the area and added that people of Mianwali, Jhang and Bhakkar also wanted to be part of the new province.
