ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan said that transgenders enjoy equal rights in the country as the other citizens of Pakistan, reported Aaj news on Tuesday.
A three member Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry hearing the equal rights for Eunuchs case.
During the case, CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that “according to the constitution transgenders also have the right over family inheritance, right of employment, education and other basic needs of human lives.
They possess right to live freely in a dignified way, says CJP.
Later, the court directed to implement the decision by all federal and provincial governments.
