Australia to chase 150 runs vs Pak in T20 Super Eight

COLOMBO: Pakistan scored a total of 150 runs against Australia in super eight round of World T20 cup , Tuesday.

Pakistan scored 60 runs at the loss to two wickets till the tenth over of Super Eights match of the World Twenty20 against Australia in Colombo.

Earlier, Australia’s captain George Bailey won the toss and sent Pakistan in to bat.

The Pakistan team line-up has one change, Abdul Razzaq replaces Yasir Arafat.

Pakistan captain Mohammed Hafeez said the team was hoping to achieve a higher score than the last match. He said, “We believe 150 plus should be a good target.”

Australia, who won their first two games, will advance to the semi-finals if they win.

But the second semi-finalist from the group will be decided only after the India-South Africa game later on Tuesday.

Both Pakistan and India have one win each from two games, while South Africa lost both their matches.

Australia: George Bailey (capt), David Warner, Shane Watson, Matthew Wade, Michael Hussey, Cameron White, Glenn Maxwell, Brad Hogg, Xavier Doherty, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins.

Pakistan: Mohammad Hafeez (capt), Imran Nazir, Nasir Jamshed, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Kamran Akmal, Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Saeed Ajmal, Raza Hasan, Abdul Razzaq.

Umpires: Ian Gould (ENG) and Richard Kettleborough (ENG)

TV umpire: Kumar Dharmasena (SRI)

Match referee: Jeff Crowe (NZL)

In today’s match, Pakistan need to beat Australia in order to have a good chance of qualifying for the semi-finals, while Australia do not even need to win in order to progress.

If Pakistan lose today, they will have to wait for the result of the match between India and South Africa which will decide their fate.
