Baldia factory fire: Factory owners bail request rejected by Court

KARACHI: Arshad Bhaila and Shahid Bhaila, owners of the Baldia Town factory which caught fire on , were the rejected bail request by the Courts on Saturday. Meanwhile Court accepted the bail application of Abdul Aziz Bhaila, father of the two owners.

The Karachi factory fire case was heard within the City Court by the Additional Session Judge (West) Abdullah Channa on Saturday.

SSP investigation Saqib Sultan informed the Court that according to the statements of the witnesses, three exit doors of the factory were closed permanently while the 4th door was closed after receiving instructions from the owners as soon as the fire broke out.

The counsel for the victims stated that the Manager of the factory Mansoor Ahmed closed the door after the owners instructed him to do so following the fire.

The Manager, on the other hand stated that the doors which were permanently shut down were not closed to provide any harm to the people by burning but rather the act can be constituted as criminal negligence.

The counsel for the factory’s owner said that the owners were ready to face all charges and would compensate the for the loss of the entire loss to the relatives of the victims.
