ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee approved the plan to import Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). According to the plan, 1 billion cubic feet gas would be imported. The summary to import raw material from India has also been approved by the Committee.
The ECC met under the headship of Federal Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh. The committee also approved the plan to initiate hydropower projects within Azad Kashmir. Besides that, renewal of government’s guarantee of Rs2.0 billion for the Pakistan Steel Mills was also approved during the meeting.
The ECC also authorized a special committee under the headship of the Industries Minister to all the export of fertilizers. The committee would be determine the modification to the prices of the fertilizers.
During the meeting, it was approved that 200,000 MT sugar would also be exported.
