Amig Baig, Adnan Pardesy and Baani D”s collection from the second day of Fashion Pakistan Week 2012.
Aamir Baig’s “Black O Block” highlights block prints with cuts and styles that are easy to wear, and stylish and chic. A technique embedded in our heritage from the days of Mohenjodaro, block printing signifies harmony and synergy, as single blocks are repeated to create complete designs. A collection in black for the bold and fabulous
Adnan Pardesy’s Autum/Winter collection – Axiomatic – redefines the craft of ‘ ralli ’ and brings a unique perspective to modern day couture. Axiomatic employs various hand-crafted techniques such as weaving, cross-pleating and gathering of ribbons and fabrics, amalgamating them visually, in a non-contradictory fashion, to create an unquestionable style statement. Adnan Pardesy’s collection will be complimented by Kiran Aman’s collection Barzakh from her label ‘So KFJ’ . Barzakh, with its bold and solid black onyx projections, accentuated by the simple use of 22 karat beaten gold accents, dividing each solid shape symmetrically, will come together as a contradiction to Pardesy’s colorful merge of techniques.
Aneeka and Salma Cheema’s Baani D is best described as a ‘Desi-Boho’ line of ready of wear, combing cultural richness with western styling, focusing on mix and match. In this collection, the imprint of Chitral meets the blockprint of Sindh and Punjab. It is a melange of dori and leather detailing, with fabric folding techniques, that makes for a unique combination. Embodying the true spirit of a woman with contemporary, cosmopolitan flair.
