Indian middle order batsman Suresh Raina has initiated a new controversy that may result in heated arguments between Pakistan and Indian players after terming the Pakistani team as ‘shameless ‘ while tweeting on his personal twitter account late on Thursday. According to the tweet, Raina was mocking the Pakistani team for exiting the World Cup few days after the Indian team’s ouster and that too be terming them as ‘shameless’.
Raina’s remarks certainly seemed derogatory and were evidently pointed towards the Pakistani team following their ouster from the World T20 event after losing to Sri Lanka in the semi-final on Thursday.
Raina’s tweet read, “Ek do din late gaye ghar !!!! Woh bhi besharam ki tarah gaye… Bye bye Pakistan”.
The remarks were later erased from the twitter account by Raina himself along with a clarification that the tweet was posted by his nephew and he had nothing to do with it. “Smart phones r dangerous. Discovered it last night after my nephew posted random tweets. I’m a sportsman and would never disrespect.”
The clarification continued with Raina further tweeting, “Though I already deleted it, I felt its better to clarify. To all those who r upset, I’m sorry. I’m not one to show disrespect.”
This recent unfitting comment would certainly raise issues for Raina who was also seen behaving aggressively against the Pakistan team during the Pak-India encounter.
Following are the snapshots of the tweets:
