Shortage of staff within FIA causes concerns while probing Asghar Khan Case

ISLAMABAD: Shortage of staff within the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has casued problems with respect to the investigation of the Asghar Khan case. The decision has become a difficult one for Interior Advisor as to whom the investigation be handed over because of the shortage of staff.

Sources informed Aaj News that Asghar Khan case is a tough case for the FIA and hence a lot of working with respect to the case has already been completed by the Supreme Court.

According to sources, the FIA faces shortage of staff with respect to investigating the case. Sources provided with the details of the staff stating that two senior FIA officials Hussain Asghar and Khalid Qureshi are currently working on the Hajj corruption and the Mumbai attack case respectively, Khadim Hussain Bhatti is currently investigating the Lahore Chief Justice murder conspiracy case. Meanwhile Ahmed Latif, Wajid Zia, Zafar Awan and Inaam Ghani are posted within various areas of the country.

Sources added that Islamabad zone’s Director Sajjad Haider is currently idle  and there are strong chances that the investigation committee of the Asghar Khan case would be headed by him while the case would be supervised by the Director General.
