KARACHI: Following the resumption of CNG after 48 hours in Sindh, it has been announced that all CNG stations in Sindh region will again remain closed for four 24 hours; from 9.00 hours on Saturday to 9.00 hours of Sunday.
According to communique from Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) here on Thursday, the CNG stations will remain closed due to short supply of gas from different gas fields causing low pressure in the system.
Long ques and traffic jams were observed outside the CNG stations across the province particularly Karachi. During the long closure of the stations commuters faced severe difficulty while travelling from one place to another.
CNG stations have continued to remain shut more often after the recent order by the Supreme Court to reduce the prices citing it to be unlawful profit. The consistent closure of CNG stations has piled on the sufferings of local commuters who find it really difficult to travel within the city considering the fact that the substitute source of energy i.e. Petrol has remained at its peak price of more than a 100 rupees per liter.
