Govt to uplift projects in Balochistan: PM

ISLAMABAD, Nov 29 (APP): Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday said that federal government has prioritized the ongoing development projects initiated in Balochistan to speed up the pace of socio-economic development and improve the standard of living of the people.

The Ministry of Finance has been specially directed to facilitate releases of all necessary funds in this regard, the Prime Minister said while talking to a delegation from Balochistan led by Jam Muhammad Yousuf, Federal Minister at the PM’s House. Other members of the delegation included Mir Naseer Mengal, Sardar Masood Zoni and Sardar Othaman Thoar Khail.
The Prime Minister said that directions have already been given for the expeditious completion of the Kachi Canal project within this year. Similarly direction have also been given for fast tracking the Dadu-Khuzdar Transmission line, completion of Kalat-Rato Dero, Khori-Qubi Saeed Khan section (Kuhzdar-Rato Deo road) and Gawader-Rato Dero road to kick off development activities Balochistan, he added.

The Prime Minister said that health related projects are also targeted by the Federal Government in Federal PSDP in order to provide better medical facilities to the people living in far flung areas of the province.

Jam Muhammad Yousuf praised the Prime Minister for his personal focus on Balochistan and expressed the view that the measures taken by the federal government would go a long way in laying foundation for sustainable development of Balochistan.
